Yesterday, the sweet, adorable, little princess decided to climb on the counters and nearly fell and knocked her noggin. So I thought to myself: Is this an opportunity to support the arts as well as teaching my DD that climbing could lead to injury? (Cuz I'm always thinking about the arts first and foremost, dontcha know.) "Why, yes it is" - I said to myself. So I sent DD (AKA Princess) to sit on her bed in her bedroom and set the timer for 4 minutes. Within mere seconds, DD had written a beautiful aria about how mean I am and how much we don't like her. She worked out a beautiful melody and additional lyrics that includes: " My mommy is so meannnnnnnn. I can't take anymore of this, said my mommeeeee." As well as "I don't like sitting on my bed, my bed, my bed.."
Really, when you think about all I do to contribute to the arts, my work should be applauded. I have fostered and continue to foster a love of the arts in my children - one mean mom act at a time. ;P
