Recently, I had the good fortune to receive the Slice and Bake Cookie Set by Melissa & Doug from Growing Tree Toys, educational toy store. I specifically chose this toy to review because I knew my 4 year old would love it. LOVE, it seems, does not begin to describe how she feels about this toy.As we already have a play kitchen for our 4 yr old, she was ready to put this set into play the moment it came into the house. We've had the set for a little over 2 weeks now and she is STILL baking us cookies daily. The set comes as pictured above. What she liked the most was that the cookies all velcro together and then she 'slices' them as mommy would do from a refrigerated cookie dough package. Then the cookies velcro to the cookie sheet. And when she felt the cookies were properly baked, she put on her little oven mitt and removed the cookies from her play oven. Then, she placed the velcro cookie toppings atop the cookies and carefully removed them from the cookie sheet with her spatula.
This toy, which retails for $19.95, is very realistic and provides hours of imaginary play. I'm absolutely thrilled with the quality of the product as well as the durability. As the pieces are of a wood material, I was concerned that after 2 weeks, they would be pretty banged up. But I was pleasantly surprised to find they are holding up well - even to a 4 yr old's rough and tumble play style. And because everything velcros together, we haven't even lost the pieces yet! And I know all of you parents of 4 yr olds understand what I'm talking about!

I recently bought this product for my 3 year old. I have not given it to her yet as I am keeping it for Christmas! What a great review. My daughter loves to pretend play in her kitchen and this will be a great addition. I can't wait to see her face on Christmas morning:) Great review!

The newer pretend kitchen sets are getting cuter each year, this is so real looking.
