How Do YOU Pink?

Hi, I'm Karrie (AKA KnitPurlGurl) and welcome to my blog. Please join in Breast Cancer Awareness month by participating each day in October in our "How Do YOU Pink" blog train intended to help spread awareness. Feel free to grab our button and link your post to ours.

Mondays: Momma'Tudes
Tuesdays: Jen Hinton.com
Saturdays: Bantering Blonde
Sundays: A Busy Mommy

Get Your Mammies Grammed in October!

  • A mammogram is an x-ray of the breast. Screening mammograms are for women who have no signs or symptoms whereas diagnostic mammograms are for women to check for breast cancer when symptoms are present
  • Women age 40 and older should have mammograms every 1-2 years to screen for breast changes
  • The older a woman is, the greater her chance for developing breast cancer.
  • Low income and uninsured women can receive mammograms free or at low cost
  • Women with breast implants need to have mammograms just like women without them
  • Conventional mammogram, digital mammogram, PET scan, and MRI as well as genetic markers may all be used in the diagnosis of breast cancer
  • Most mammograms are not painful, but rather produce a feeling of pressure
  • Early detection via mammogram may help save your life
Be sure to head on over to Jen Hinton.com tomorrow and check out her pink post.
