Missing Mommy Instincts?

Okay.  So I was watching Nick Jr. this morning (I have a 4 yo - don't judge me! ;P ) and saw a Charmin commercial - the one where the mama bear checks the baby bear and finds that the baby bear has left over pieces of TP on his bum.  And I thought to myself, is this really an issue?  Am I missing some vital mommy-instinct that should tell me to check for toilet paper residue?  Or does Charmin realize that not all mommies possess this instinct and therefore feels compelled to provide a toilet paper PSA on our behalf?

I will ponder my lack of toilet paper knowledge and get back with you. ;P

Today was another battle of wills with my 4 yo DD.  Let me tell you, this kid is one stubborn little girl.  Stubborn! Stubborn! Stubborn!  Did I mention that she's stubborn? 

Much to my DD's dismay, I didn't share in her excitement as she scaled my furniture and counter tops.  Although genetic testing has not been performed, I'm almost positive my DD has chimpanzee DNA.  (Of course I could be mistaken.) She climbed atop the couch back, the couch arms, the counters, my dining room table, and even my coffee table.  After 1 warning, DD was promptly put in the naughty corner for a little monkey rehab.  After 4 times in the naughty corner, I think I may have worn her down.  (I'm worn down!)  Of course, she did voice her opinion on the subject by labeling me "the meanest mommy EV-ERRRRR!"  So, perhaps I was being a bit hasty when I said I wore her down.

As of right now, chimp girl is watching a movie and snuggling with me.  It's so hard to stay mad at that teeny, smiling face.  Maybe she won't climb anything else today.. Maybe.  Hey, it could happen!
